Acosta, Alice Mae Landry

A native of Plattenville and resident of Donaldsonville, she died on Saturday, April 25, 2015. She was 85. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church mausoleum.

Darensbourg, Brenda Gail

She passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the age of 54. She was a resident of Gonzales, a native of Baton Rouge, and a graduate of Redemptorist High School. She worked The Arc of East Ascension as a caregiver. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Grantham, Larry Edward

He passed away at 6:50 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was 60, native of Port Allen, and resident of Prairieville. He was a 1973 graduate of Episcopal High School and a 1978 LSU Graduate. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He retired after 36 years of teaching and coaching in East Baton Rouge Parish. He was head basketball coach at Tara High School for 26 years. He was honored as the District Coach of the year in 1995 and 2001. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Grover, Alice Faye

A long time resident of Gonzales, she passed away at The Butterfly Wing of The Hospice of Baton Rouge on April 21, 2015. She was 73. She was native to Biloxi, MS and grew up in Dallas, TX. She graduated from North Dallas High School and later received a degree in nursing from the University of The State of New York Regents College.

Kendig, Verna Gore

She passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 5:45 a.m. at her home in Gonzales. She was 89. She was born in St. Amant and was a retired clerk from Insurance Selective. Inurnment in Branchville Cemetery in Branchville, New Jersey.

Marsh, James E. “Jimmy”

He passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 4:30 pm at his resident in Prairieville. He was a mason with Hope Haven Marble and Granite. Interment will be at Hope Haven Prairieville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a benefit will be held in memory of Jimmy, on his birthday May 23, 2015 to help with medical and funeral expenses. It will be a jambalaya lunch at Lamendola's Grocery on Burnside from 11 a.m. till. Donations given before the benefit can be sent to Ascension Funeral Home.

LeBourgeois Sr., Lynn L.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend; went to jitterbug for the Lord on April 21, 2015 at the age of 58. His loving wife Kay remained a constant by his side. A native of Chalmette and a resident of Gonzales, he worked as a machinist and was well known for his extreme talent. His witty sense of humor will forever be cherished, his diligence to his work will never be forgotten, and his amazing cooking ability is a legacy that will last. He was welcomed Home with open arms by his parents, Herman L. and Mary Catherine LeBourgeois, and his brother Frederick “Freddie” LeBourgeois. He will live on through his brothers and their families: Noah and Carolyn, Herman and Brenda and Kevin LeBourgeois. Immeasurably missed by his sons: Lynn Jr, Landon and Jennifer, Clint LeBourgeois, and Chris “Tootie” and Lindsi McNemar. Treasured by his Daughters: Ashlynn and Robert “Bubba” Ashford, Jill and Spencer Clouatre, Wyn and Jon Sigur,and Lindsey and Kalen Minvielle and his numerous grandchildren will remember him lovingly. His extended family along with future generations to come will continue to know him by our many endeared memories. A special thanks to Dr. Gerald Barber, Hospice of Baton Rouge, and the staff at the Butterfly Wing/Baton Rouge General for their wonderful care. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Lynn LeBourgeois Sr. to Baton Rouge Hospice.

Oubre, Richard John

He was born on October 30, 1967, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Charlotte, NC, he died on Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was 47. He was a graduate of LSU and received his master's degree in Management Information Systems. He was employed with Empowered Benefits as a Sr. Business Analyst. Entombment in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church mausoleum, in Donaldsonville.

Smith, Ruby Nell

A resident of Gonzales, she passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 91. Visitation was held at First United Methodist Church of Gonzales on Thursday, April 23. Inurnment will be held at a later date in New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, Mississippi.

Simoneaux, Johnnie Bell Young

She died on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was 74. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Mausoleum in Donaldsonville.

Tullier, Joseph Franklin

A resident of Prairieville, he passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was 67 and worked at Turner Industries for 38 years. Interment in Oak Lane Memorial Park Cemetery in Prairieville.
