The 12th Annual Alexis’ Angel Sale, held recently, was success with over $7,000 being raised. The event is held for LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency) in memory of Alexis Cole Porter, an organ donor. At 16, she died of an aneurysm in the brain. She donated her organs that gave over 6 people an opportunity of a new life. The event, held annually the Saturday after Easter, was started by Rhonda Porta and her family to remember her daughter in a special way while benefiting Donate Life Louisiana, a program by the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA).
