Babin, Hazel Glenn

A native of Geismar and resident of St. Amant, she passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at the age of 58. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum in Prairieville.

Booker, Benny "Durell"

He died on Jan. 26, 2015. He was a resident of Galvez and a graduate of St. Amant High. Burial in Cornerview Cemetery, Gonzales.

Breaux, Jake M.

A resident of Prairieville, he passed away at his residence on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the age of 34. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dill, Fred Arthur “Sweet”

A native and resident of Donaldsonville, he passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015. He was 73. Had a lifelong career in law enforcement beginning with the Donaldsonville Police Department. He was commissioned in 1985 with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Department until his retirement in 2002. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church mausoleum.

Howell, Bobby Joel

A native of Fort Benning, Georgia, and resident of St. Amant, he passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. He was 58. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked at Jerry Hanna River Ventures. Interment will follow at Beauty Hill Family Cemetery in Killian.

Jackson, James "Bugg"

He passed away at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center. He was 80. He was a native of Dutchtown and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired mechanic. Interment will be in Winnfield Memorial Park.

LeBlanc, Sr.. Leonard (Pal) Joseph

He was a resident of Denham Springs and passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015. He was 78. A native of Donaldsonville, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he was a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School and a retiree of Ethyl Corporation and East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Lemoine, Eugene Anthony

He passed away Monday morning, Jan. 26, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was 59. He was a native of Moreauville and resident of Gonzales. Vistation was held was held Friday, January 30, at Ourso Funeral Home Chapel.

Lukse, John W.

John W. Lukse, age 89, was born on March 6, 1925 in Greenwich, CT and died at South East Louisiana Veteran’s Home on January 21, 2015. He was originally from Ormond Beach, FL and was a current resident of Gonzales. Mr. Lukse was retired from Blake Motors of Daytona Beach, FL after being with the company for 52 years. He also served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He belonged to the American Legion, Post 81. Mr. Lukse enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo during his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Norma Lukse; son, Jack Lukse and wife Heather of Gonzales; granddaughters, Lisa Lavigne and husband Keith of St. Amant, Laura Sprague and husband Jerry of New York and great-grandchildren, Caleb Lavigne, Kelsey Lavigne, Jerry Clason and Tiffany Sprague. He is preceeded in death by a son, Clason Lukse and parents, John Joseph and Amy Lukse. There will be no public services for Mr. Lukse. Ourso Funeral home of Gonzales is in charge of arrangements.

Nichols, Chad Michael

He died on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015. He was 37. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church mausoleum.

SCOTT, Claude "Pete"

He was born May 15, 1924 and departed this life on Dec. 14, 2014. He was born on the family farm in Dundy County, Max, Nebraska. He has always been in construction work and was a bricklayer for many years. While living in Borger, TX he went into commercial contracting and later the family moved to Florida and finally settled in Gonzales. Interment will be at Lusk Cemetery.

Thomassie, Perry Joseph

A native and resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Jan. 25, 2015, at The Carpenter House. He was 77. He was the owner of Thomassie Insurance and many other businesses that served the Gonzales area for many years. He was a previous member of the Gonzales Mounted Posse. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Visitation and a Memorial Service were held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales.
