Acy, Anna Belle (Richardson)

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Anna Belle passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was 89, a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Amant. She graduated Salutatorian from St. Amant High School and was a typist with Gonzales Weekly Newspaper for years. She also volunteered with Hospice of Baton Rouge for 16 years and loved every minute of it. Anna Belle loved working in her yard and traveling around the country collecting mugs. She always shared her fond memories and her loyalty to New Orleans and the Saints. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Acy Hamilton (Steve) and Cathy Acy; sons, Joseph "Danny" Acy, Jr. (Margie) and Kevin Acy (Beverly Kelley); sister, Aline R. Denham; brother, John "J.T." Richardson; eleven grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and 13 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Acy, Sr.; son, Drew Richard Acy; parents, Henry J. Richardson, Sr. and Anna Delahaye Richardson; and brothers, Albert "Abby" Richardson, Charlie "Bubba" Richardson and Henry "Jimmy" Richardson, Jr. Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, January 27, from 10 am until funeral service at 2 pm. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery, St. Amant. Pallbearers were her grandsons Conn Petite, Griff Templet, Beau Babin, Jason Wills, Quinn Templet, and Michael Edwards. She dedicated her life and time to her family, lit a room with her contagious smile, warmed hearts with her love.

Babineaux, Claude

He passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was 80 and a longtime resident of Gonzales. He was born in Church Point on August 22, 1934. He retired as a Maintenance Supervisor with Southern Maintenance Incorporated and had served in the United States Army. In the City of Gonzales he served on numerous Boards and Councils. He was a member of the Gonzales Hall of Fame, S.A.L.T. with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, and the City of Gonzales Zoning and Planning Commission. He was also very devoted in the community having been a Boy Scout Leader and in the St. Theresa Council 2657 Knights of Columbus for 40 years earning a 4th Degree rank. He was also a past K.C. Grand Knight. He also began the Law Enforcement Banquet, along with a few others, to honor those who serve the community. He was longtime member of St. Theresa Church and served as an Usher. Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, January 23 and will resumed on Saturday at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church until Mass of Christian Burial. Graveside services was held on Saturday at 2 pm in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Mire.

Cannella, Gladys Ann Cedotal LeJeune

A resident of The City of Central, she passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Baton Rouge General, Bluebonnet from complications of double pneumonia. She was 80. She was born on November 22, 1934 in Prairieville. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Gauthier, Glenda B.

A native of Alexandria and resident of Gonzales, she passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the age of 63. Interment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales.

Gautreau, Joan Ann Schexnayder

A native of St. James and resident of Donaldsonville, she passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at the age of 69. Entombment in St. Philip Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Davis, Josephine Sirjack

A retired seamstress with Montgomery Ward, she was a resident of Baton Rouge, and a native of Head of Island. She passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Carpenter House, she was 101. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Lipoma Sr., Felix

He passed away in West Feliciana Parish on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. He was 73. He was a native of Bunkie and resident of Gonzales. He was in the Navy and served on the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier from 1959 to 1962. He retired from Uniroyal Chemical Plant after serving 42 years as a plant shift supervisor. He was a boxing coach at Gonzales Boxing Club. Interment in Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie.

Lukse, John W.

He was born on March 6, 1925, in Greenwich, CT, and died at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home on January 21, 2015. He was 89. He was originally from Ormond Beach, FL, and was a current resident of Gonzales. He was retired from Blake Motors of Daytona Beach, FL after being with the company for 52 years. He also served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He belonged to the American Legion, Post 81. There will be no public services.

Martrain, Elizabeth "Betty" Lobell

A native of French Settlement and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the age of 79. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

McKinnie, Billy Ray "Bill"

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray "Bill" McKinnie were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Bro. Mark Goins officiating. Interment followed at Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Billy Ray McKinnie was born July 7, 1933 at Marion, Louisiana to the late John Melvin McKinnie and Pitsy White McKinnie. He passed away January 24, 2015 at the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired heavy equipment operator. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn Cox McKinnie; a son, Christopher "Chris" McKinnie; a sister, Faye Bearden; four brothers, Milton McKinnie, J.P. McKinnie, Jim McKinnie and infant brother, Jessie McKinnie. Mr. McKinnie is survived by his daughter, Lee McKinnie of Gonzales, Louisiana; his son, Todd McKinnie and his wife, Susan of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother, James W. McKinnie and wife, Elsie of Rocky Branch, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Marie McKinnie of West Monroe, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Barney Cox and his wife, Barbara of Gonzales, Louisiana; four grandchildren Laramie McKinnie, Gracie McKinnie, Hunter McKinnie, and Mitchell McKinnie; step-granddaughter, Spring Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family. Serving as pallbearers were Hunter McKinnie, Fred Laing, Jr., Kerry Bearden, Mike Cheveallier, Gene Richards, Jr., and Shane Crain. The family received friends Tuesday, January 27, beginning at 12 noon until time for services at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

St. Pierre, Edna Guidry

She passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 4:10 pm at Nottingham Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, at the age of 98. She was a resident of Gonzales and a native of St. James Parish. Interment in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Covent.

Young Sr., Lloyd Raphael

He passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 3:12 am at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was 86 and a native of Gonzales. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and former longtime resident of Gonzales. He was a retired Art Conservator and served in the LA National Guard. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum. He was a lifetime member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church.
