Gonzales Weekly Citizen

Braud, Purvis Joseph

He passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home in Reserve. He was a native of Dutchtown and longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He served his country as Quartermaster Third Class in the U.S. Navy and was discharged May 17, 1946. He later went on to start United Steel Company where he served as owner/president. Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, January 16, with a funeral service at following. A burial of his ashes will take place in Louisiana National Cemetery at a later date.

Dandan, Marie Bulik

A resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at St. Clare Manor on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the age of 88. She was a retired Home Economics teacher. When she first came to the U.S. from Leyte, Philippines as a nun novitiate, she taught grade school and high school in Carrollton, OH. She was aspiring to become a nun and had begun the process to start her vocation. Her church name was Maria Concepta Zosima Dandan. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Duffy Jr., Cleveland Floyd

He passed away at 3:35 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 59. He was a native of Walker and a resident of Gonzales. Interment will be at Galvez Pentecostal Cemetery. He was a member of Victory Temple Church.

Gautreau, John “Pat”

He passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 9:52 am at his residence in Gonzales. He was a native of Gonzales and 75 years old. He was retired as a supervisor from Vulcan Chemical. Internment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum. He worked with RCIA, In-search, PSR and was a Eucharistic Minister and altar server.

Green, Beverly “Bev” (Harvey)

A native and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Colonial Care Retirement Center. She was 55. Interment in Emmanuel Baptist Church cemetery.

Landry, Jerry

A native of Belle Rose and a resident of Donaldsonville, he died on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. He was 72. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Mass will be held at 11 a.m.

Landry, Lisa E.

She passed away on December 28, 2014 at the age of 46. She was a 1986 graduate of St. Amant High School. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery.

Lemoine, Troy “Bubba” Allen

He passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, 8:30 am at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was 33. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marks, Martin “Marty” Edward

He passed away on January 13, 2015 after a brief illness. He was 72, a native of Shreveport, and a long-time resident of Baton Rouge and Gonzales. He was a pilot. A celebration of his life attended by friends and family was held on January 15. A private family service will be held at a later date. He supported the River Region Art Association and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Samuels, Mary Ann

A resident of Prairieville, and a native of New Orleans, she died on Friday, January 9, 2015, at The Crossing Hospice in Visiting was held Friday, January 16 at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home in Gonzales. Religious Service was held Saturday, January 17 at The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2100 St. Roche Ave., New Orleans.

Scieneaux Sr., Curtis “Short Man”

A resident of Abend, he died on January 9, 2015 at his home. He was 74. Interment in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Smith, George Edward “Bub”

A long time resident of St. Gabriel and Darrow, he passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 62. Burial in Christian Assembly Church cemetery.

Willis, John C.

A native of Birmingham, AL and resident of Prairieville, he passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the age of 66. As Vice President of ADCO Companies Ltd, he was a part of the ADCO family for 37 years. Visitation was observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Friday, January 16, followed by a memorial service.
