Alexis, Leon James

He passed away, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington at the age of 77. He was a native of Brittany and a resident of Bogalusa. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Mel-Grave Trucking and served his country in the U.S. National Guard. Burial in Richardson Family Cemetery in St. Amant. He was a member of the Panama Hunting Club.

Bearb, Myrtle Jumonville Granier

A native of Union and a resident of Darrow, she passed away at 10:15 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014. She was 83 and a housewife. Interment will be at Hope Haven Cemetery on Highway 30 in Gonzales.

Breaux, Mary Lynn Williams

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of French Settlement she passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the age of 66. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Boudreaux, Polly Dunaway

She passed away Monday, 24 Nov. 2014, at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. She was born July 23, 1947, in Alexander, Ark. She was 67. She devoted 32 years as a real estate agent in the Baton Rouge and Gonzales area. Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. at the River of Life Worship Center, 18295 Hwy. 16, Port Vincent. Additionally, there will be another ceremony at the Winan Missionary Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Ark., at her final resting place.

Carpenter III, Callie D.

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of St. Amant, he passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was 58 and a retired crane operator for Deep South Crane and Rigging. Interment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville.

Dugas, Betty Bonin

She passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014. She was born on July 21, 1935, in Rayne, reared in Donaldsonville, and was a resident of Gonzales. She was 79. Visitation was held on Monday, December 1, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales until Mass of Christian Burial, followed by a private Cremation service.

Godwin Sr., Robert Wayne

He passed away on Nov. 22, 2014, at the age of 70. He was a resident of St. Amant. Visiting was held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Wednesday, November 26, followed by a memorial service at 1 pm.

Jones, Emerald Wesley

He was 92 and passed away on November 26, 2014 in Gonzales. He was a native of Swedesboro, N. J. and a resident of Gonzales. A memorial gathering was held at Ourso Funeral Home -13533 Airline Hwy. –Gonzales, on Saturday November 29. He was a retired Civil Engineer with Hercules, Inc. and a United States Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 87 F. & A. M. in Clarksboro where he received his 60th anniversary certificate and was a longtime member of the U.S.G.A. and a Graduate of Widener College.

Sgt. Justin Michael Kling, US Army (Ret.)

A lifelong resident of Gonzales and member of the United States Army, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Unit, 2nd Infantry Division; passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the age of 33. There was a military funeral honors ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

LeBourgeois, Sr., Archie H.

A native of Head of Island and resident of St. Amant, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the age of 88. He worked at BASF Wyandotte for many years prior to his retirement and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Melancon, Evelyn B. "Tobie"

A native of Burnside, born July 14, 1930, and a resident of Prairieville, she passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Interment in Hope Haven Mausoleum in Prairieville.

Moss, Helen Dugas

A resident of Prairieville born on September 10, 1927 and passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. She was 87 and a native of Rayne. Burial to follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Prairieville.

Skinner, Freddie

A resident of Donaldsonville and a retired security guard, he died on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was 78 and a U S Navy veteran. Interment in the Protestant Cemetery.

Stanley, Benny R.

A resident of St. Amant, passed away on November 25, 2014, after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 22, 1946, in Akron, OH. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, November 26. He graduated from St. Amant High School and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years and was awarded the Purple Heart. In 1994, he was awarded the People's Choice Award by the Music Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Louisiana Purple Heart Association.
