Allen, Charles Kenneth “Chuck”

A residents of Prairieville and a native of Shannon, GA, he passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at the age of 81. He was a wood worker by trade, a machinist, and a Livingston Parish Deputy. He also received a Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War. Burial in Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Bercegeay, Frances (DeLaune)

She passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the age of 74. She was a native of Galvez and resident of Gonzales. She graduated from Gonzales High School and served in church ministry and as an organist for Broussard Grove Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Berthelot Jr., Albert M. "Al"

He passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the age of 69, at The Carpenter House. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales.

Butler, Mae W.

A native of Amite County, Mississippi, and longtime resident of Prairieville, she passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. She was 95. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Mary Springs Church of God of Prophecy. Interment in Mary Springs Cemetery.

Collins, Gerald Ray

A native of New Orleans, resident of Gonzales, he passed away September 11, 2014 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was 56. Burial in New St. John Fellowship Church Collins cemetery, Gonzales.

Durbin, Huey Pearce

He died at his home on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having flown 35 missions over Korea. He was a resident of Port Vincent and a native of Holden. He was born on August 30, 1931. Interment in St. Williams Cemetery in Port Vincent.

Gaudin, Jesse Lee

He was born Sept. 25, 1986 in Baton Rouge and died Sept 20, 2014. He had a passion for music that led him to be an accomplished musician. Interment in Hope Haven on Hwy. 30 in Gonzales.

Halker, Geneva Marie

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 79. She was a native and lifelong resident of Sorrento. Entombment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Hearn, Royal Dawson

A resident of St. Amant, he passed away at 9:30 a.m. Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Monday, September 15, 2014. He was 81, a retired machinist supervisor, and a veteran of the United States Army. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Prairieville. He was a member of Bethany World Prayer Center.

Hutchison, Sharon Porter

She died September 17th, 2014 at the age of 60. She was a long time resident of Baton Rouge, Gonzales and Carencro. She was employed by the State of Louisiana from 1983 to 2007 in four departments, LSU Veterinary Medicine, LSU AgCenter, College of Agriculture, retired from Anti-Terrorism Assistant Program. A celebration of her life was held Saturday, Sept. 20.

Lavigne, Lorraine G.

She passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the age of 53. She was a native of Baywood and a resident of St. Amant. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales.

Lightfoot, Yolanda Marie

A certified nursing assistant, native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Gonzales, she passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Regionaal Medical Center. She was 55. Enterment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Lessard, Travis "Hollywood"

He was 53 and passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. A resident of Gonzales and native of Ascension Parish. His occupation was with Air-Cool Heating and Air. Burial in Richardson Cemetery, St. Amant.

Mire, Wanda Gayle

She passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. She was a resident of St. Amant. At her request, there was no funeral or services. Interment in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

McLin, Gerald C.

He passed away at the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet Thursday, September 18, 2014. He was a native of Pine Grove, and a resident Gonzales. He was 77. He retired from Borden's Milk Company after 37 years of employment. Burial in Faithful United Methodist Churchcemetery.

McQuiddy Sr., Craig Robertson

He lost his battle to cancer at the age of 66. He was a businessman who passed away at his home on September 20, 2014, in Prairieville. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in Frankfurt, Germany and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. In 2010, he retired from Bush Brothers & Company after 18 years of service. Visitation and services were held at St. John the Evangelist, Prairieville, on Thursday, September 25.

Ourso, Roland Joseph

He was born April 20, 1925, in Donaldsonville and passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in Baton Rouge. He was 89. He was a veteran of World War II having served 2 years in the U.S. Army and worked as a drilling supervisor for Shell Oil Company for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion. Entombment in the St. Francis Mausoleum, Donaldsonville.

Young, Melba Hoover

She spassed away at 6 p.m. on September 16, 2014. A native of Romeville and resident of Gonzales, she was 92. Interment to follow in Hope Haven Gardens of Memory, Hwy. 30, Gonzales.
