Babin, Helen Bourgeois

A native of Brignac, she passed away peacefully at her home in St. Amant, on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 7:55 p.m. She was 90. She was a seamstress at the Gonzales Pants Factory and Neese Industries, Inc. in Gonzales. One of the first employees at Neese, she sewed a rainsuit that was proudly used by Mr. Neese as a display model. She owned Tiny Tots and Toddler Nursery in Gonzales. Interment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.

Clift, Lloyd Franklin

He passed away on September 10, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He suffered from chronic lung disease. He was 84. He worked for Boyce Machinery for 37 years at which time the company was sold. He then started Clift Equipment which he operated for several years. He was a members of Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales. Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday Sept. 12 and Saturday, September 13, followed by religious services and interment.

Daigle Sr., Richard Gayle

He passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was 75 and was a native and resident of Duplessis. He was a member of the Local 198 for 55 plus years. Interment in Prairieville Community Cemetery.

Delatte, Sr., Pastor Lloyd Joseph

He passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his home in Donaldsonville. He was 74. He was the Senior Pastor of Word of Life Church for 31 years. Interment in Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery, Prairieville.

DeLeo, Josie Esneault

She passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. She was a native and resident of Donaldsonville. She retired from the Housing Authority of Donaldsonville as Executive Director and was a lifetime member of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. She was 84. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Cemetery in Donaldsonville.

Fernandez, Helen Agnes

A homemaker, a resident of Port Arthur, TX and a native of Donaldsonville, she died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Port Arthur, TX. She was 90. Entombment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. She was a member of the NAACP, Knights of Perter Claver Ladies' Auxiliary, and the Ladies Sodality of over 40 years where she served as President.

Jackson, Verna Mae

A lifelong resident of Gonzales, she passed away on September 5, 2014 at Promise Rehabilitation Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was 79. Interment Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church cemetery.

Johnson, John Lawton

He passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at his home. He was 63. A resident and native of Gonzales, he was a retired electrician and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Burial at the Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary.

Scioneaux, Kathleen (Legendre)

She passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. She was 72. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Donaldsonville, where she was a homemaker and worked for a short time as an assistant at the Interment in Ascension Catholic Church cemetery.

Waguespack, Grace Brou

She passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Gonzales Health Care. She was 86 and was a resident of Gonzales and native of Convent. She was a retired secretary with St. Michael Catholic Church, Convent. Entombment in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church mausoleum.

Wilson, Kate Tumblin

She passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 3:05 p.m. at Gonzales Healthcare Facility, Gonzales, at the age of 89. She was born November 7, 1924, in Ascension Parish. Interment in First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
