First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Summer Reading Challenge winners are, front row: Abigale Yamson, Tony Thompson, Jr., Danielle Thompson, Samuel Yamson, Brelyn Delmore; and back row: Brenden Delmore.

The First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Summer Reading Challenge was recently held. The participants were given cash awards in three categories based on the number of grade appropriate books read.

• Brelyn Delmore read the most books in the category grade 1-3.

• Sydney Johnson (picture not shown) and Brenden Delmore won in categories grade 4-8 and grade 9- 12, respectively.

• Brelyn Delmore read the most books overall. She received the grand prize of $50.00.

• Encouragement awards were given to Tony Thompson, Jr., Samuel Yamson, Abigale Yamson and Danielle Thompson.

“Congratulations to all of the participants and their parents who believe that reading is fundamental,” said a FPCMBC spokesperson.
