Brown, LeVerne Braud

Native of Cornerview and resident of Gonzales, LeVerne died on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 after a lengthy illness at the age of 90. Her body has been donated to Tulane Medical School. A memorial service will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Friday, June 20, 2014 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. She is survived by two sons, Woodrow Brown, Jr. and wife Marilyn, Remi Brown and wife Lynn; one daughter, Loretta and husband Dan Duda; grandsons, Dennis Brown, Ronnie Brown and wife Tonya, and Remi Brown, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Kirsten, Beau, Brylee and Londyn Brown; one great-great-grandchild, Colton Brown; nieces and nephews, Terry Gaudet, Frances Braud, Carolyn Cortoza, Diane Fillwock, Bud Braud, Edgar Braud, Marie Louise Gerac, Wally Wintz, Dan Wintz and David Wintz. Preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Brown; parents, Denis and Alice Marchand Braud; brothers, Royal, Cecil and Frances Braud; sisters, Irmie Gaudet and Joyce Wintz. The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Stagg and his wonderful staff, all of her caregivers, St. Joseph Hospice, and especially Tiffany and Sheldon. Capers, Lawrence “Pee Wee”

A native of Pensacola, FL and a resident of Gonzales, he passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the age of 62. Visitation was held Monday, June 16 at First Apostolic Lighthouse, Gonzales, followed by a service Tuesday morning.

Collins, Patrick

He passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Our Lady of the Lake Clinic in Walker. Services were held on Saturday, June 14 at New St. John Fellowship Church in Gonzales, with visitation followed by funeral service.

Delatte, Delton Joseph

A native and life long resident of Whitehall, he passed away on Tuesday. June 10, 2014 at 74 years of age. He was a retired Iron worker and welder with Local 623 and farmer. Burial in Whitehall Community Cemetery.

Hamilton, Byron A.

A native and resident of Donaldsonville, and a former produce stocker at Winn Dixie, he passed away at his home on Monday, June 9, 2014. He was 54. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Cemetery, Donaldsonville.

Hanly, Robert T.

A native of Mobile, AL and resident of Prairieville, he passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the age of 76. He had 42 years of service to the GM&O Railroad which merged with the Illinois Central Railroad in Houston and then merged with the Canadian National Railroad with whom he finished his career in Houston, TX. He was a member of the Traffic Club in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 15208 Hwy 73, on Thursday, June 19, from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Matthews, Georgia “Mae Mae”

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Gonzales, she passed away at 4:24 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014. She was 61. Interment in Springhill Baptist Church cemetery, Liberty, Miss.
