A group of socially aware young professionals are looking to start a new chapter of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in the area. The organization, also known as the Jaycees, was founded in Missouri in 1920 and has been active in Louisiana for 75 years. The mission of the Junior Chamber is "to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change." Members host socials, receive leadership training to enhance their personal and professional development, and serve community needs. If you are 18-40 years old, please contact George Riggs for more information at riverparishesjaycees@yahoo.com. For more information on the national organization, go to www.usjaycees.org.
