AARP Chapter 1449's food drive held

On Nov. 13, the AARP Chapter 1449 held a Food Drive for the St. Theresa Food Bank. "The members braved the cold weather to collect non-perishable food items," said member Shirley Lewis. Twenty-two persons participated and 791 food items were collected, which also included items purchased from cash donations. "Hats off to Chapter 1449 and thanks to Walmart, 308 N. Airline, Gonzales," added Lewis.

Anyone who is 50 or above and a member of the National AARP Chapter is invited to the  local AARP Chapter 1449 meetings held on the fourth Friday of each month. The meetings take place at 11 a.m. at 2337 S. Robert Wilson, Gonzales.
