LeBlanc's Food Stores, located at 209 South Airline Hwy in Gonzales, recently completed a massive renovation by adding square feet to the supermarket. The increased space allowed for an expanded selection of perishable items specifically in the deli/bakery, prepared foods, produce, sushi, meat and seafood departments. While the increased space was nice, the main change can be seen in the new items, over 300 new specialty grocery items added, and services that are now offered to customers.

"We hope our customers enjoy the new store as much as we do especially our perishable departments," says Marcy LeBlanc, owner and operator of LeBlanc's. "We added a butcher block station, where a qualified butcher is on hand to assist you with a perfect Chairman's Reserve Steak or one of our Cajun specialty meats such as pork tenderloin stuffed with crawfish cornbread or a chicken breast with Gouda cheese and Portobello mushrooms wrapped in bacon."

In addition to the meat department, LeBlanc's has expanded their seafood selection offering fresh, Louisiana seafood, sushi grade tuna, and Atlantic salmon. LeBlanc's will even boil your seafood purchased from their store, free of charge!

"In listening to our dedicated and loyal customers, we learned that they wanted quick, affordable, and delicious meals. Therefore, we created a prepared foods area that contains a variety of meal options for both lunch and dinner," states LeBlanc. The hot bar contains a variety of entrees, sides, soups and desserts each day. The salad and olive bar provide a healthier option for customers while the freshly prepared pizza, lasagna, and quiche make for an easy "store to table" option for customers on the go. In addition, the store now has a burrito and taco bar where customers can choose chicken, shrimp, pork, or brisket to accompany their fresh vegetables and toppings.

LeBlanc's Food Stores has been a part of the Gonzales community for over 50 years. Since 1961, the LeBlanc family has been welcomed with open arms. "The expansion and renovation of this store is a token of our appreciation and thanks for your continued support of our local grocery store," says LeBlanc. "We would like to thank every shopper for embracing our store and we greatly appreciate your patience during our construction and renovation."

The LeBlanc family is committed to the grocery business and serving Ascension Parish as the 4th generation (Matthew LeBlanc, Marcy LeBlanc Jr., Brooke LeBlanc Knight and Brittney LeBlanc Boyle) have all joined the family business. In addition, LeBlanc's Food Stores first location from the ground up is set to open this November on Airline Highway and Duplessis Road. The new location will bring the fresh concept that is seen in the newly renovated Gonzales store as well as some innovative ideas.
