Early voting began Saturday, April 20

Early voting for the May 4, 2013 Municipal General election began on Saturday, April 20 and will continue on Monday, April 22 through Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

This election is for:

1. A Parish-wide Proposition which is a renewal to be dedicated and used for the purpose of paying costs of programs for the elderly citizens of the Parish to be administered by the Parish through the Council on Aging.

2. A Parish-wide Proposition for the Ascension Parish School District. This is a School Salary Millage Renewal, a School Technology Millage Renewal, and a School Building Millage Renewal.

3. Fire Protection District No. 1 Proposition for the registered voters in Fire District No. 1 ONLY! This excludes voters within the city limits of Gonzales and the Town of Sorrento.

Voters can get a written text of these propositions, check their voting information and get a sample ballot at www.geauxvote.com. Remember to bring a driver's license or a Louisiana picture ID!

Early voting is held in the Gonzales Registrar of Voters office at 828 S Irma Blvd Room 205 and the Donaldsonville office located in the courthouse at 300 Houmas St. Suite B.
