Abbott, Walter Joseph "Bootsy"

He passed away at his home in Port Vincent on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was 75 and a retired equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Local 406. He was also a cattleman. Burial in Port Vincent Cemetery.

Bertinot, Benjamin Edward

A native of Sunset and a resident of Prairieville he passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his residence at the age of 81. He was a 1st Lt. in the Air Force and retired as a Naval Commander; he received a B.S. in Secondary Education and Chemical Engineering from ULL; B.S. in Meteorology from Penn State; and retired as Professional Chemical Engineer in the petro chemical industry. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Member with council #8342 and a member of the Korean Conflict War Veterans Association.

Cude, Mamie Theresa

A resident of Gonzales and native of New Orleans, she passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013. She was 74. According to her wishes no services will be held.

Dunbar, Mary Stovall "Punch"

She was a correctional officer with over 10 years of service and passed way on Feb. 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was a native of Woodville, MS and resident of Gonzales. She was 58. Interment in Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church cemetery, Gonzales.

Francis, William Edward "Bill"

A native of Houston, and a resident of Maurepas, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at The Carpenter House. He was 81 years old. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Gautreau, Brenda Ann

A resident of Gonzales and native of New Orleans, she passed away at her home on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at 11:46 p.m. She was 61. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, Prairieville.

Gregoire, Nellie Oggs

She died at 8:50 p.m. at the Gonzales Health Care Center. She was 85 and a native of New Orleans and a resident of Sorrento for 14 years.. Per her request cremation services will be held. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Marchand, Ginger McAdams

A native of Des Allemands and a resident of Acy, she passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 in Baton Rouge. She was 61 and a retired florist. Burial in Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery, St. Amant.

LaFleur Sr., Paul

He passed away on Feb. 23, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at his home in Duplessis. He was 85 years old, born May 5, 1927. He served in the Navy during WWII on the P.T. boats carrying troops from ship to shore. He worked for Boyce Machinery for 32 years from which he retired in 1973. He was a member of St. Mark, and a Grand Knight of the K.C. Council for many years. He has donated his body to Tulane Medical Center for research purposes. A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, March 2 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Highway 621.

Landry, Minos Joseph

An oilfield worker, he died at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his home in Prairieville. He was 81 and a native of Erath. Services were at Carpenter's Chapel Church on Saturday, March 2. He was a special Mason and a Union Teamster.

Millet, Joyce LeBlanc

She passed away at her home on Feb. 27. She was a homemaker and native of Gonzales. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery.

Romig Sr., Louis H.

A native of Plaquemine, he died Friday, March 1, 2013, at his residence in Gonzales. He was 60. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine.

Stewart Sr., Royal V.

He was a native of Donner and resident of Geismar. He passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 in his home, at the age of 67. He was a member of First Pilgrim Calvary Baptist Church. He was an auto mechanic. Visitation was held on Friday, March 1, at First Pilgrim Calvary Baptist Church, Geismar. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, at Triumph Baptist Church, Gibson.

Seguin Sr., George Lee

Sergeant in the Infantry and received a Purple Heart Recipient -- U.S. Army WWII. A resident of Maurepas. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum, , Baton Rouge.

Therence, Vernon Louis "Bookie"

At Flannery Oaks Guest House in Baton Rouge he passed away at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. He was 90 and a native and resident of Donaldsonville. Entombment in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery, Donaldsonville.

Zeringue, Iva Wright "Peggy"

She passed away on March 1, 2013 at the age of 91. She was a native of Irinville County, Georgia. Interment in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church mausoleum, Smokebend.
