Hometown hero receives promotion
Chad J. Anderson has been promoted to the rank of sergeant major in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Anderson is assigned to the Louisiana National Guard at Gillis W. Long Center, La. The sergeant major has served in the military for 25 years. He is a resident of Gonzales.
He is the father of Kaylin and Korie Anderson of Leblanc Road, and son of O'Neal and Linda Anderson of Leblanc Road, all of Gonzales.
His wife, Shawndell, is the daughter of Jim and Bobbie Lilly of Pelican Point Parkway, also of Gonzales.
Anderson graduated in 1986 from East Ascension High School, Gonzales, and received a bachelor's degree in 2002 from Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa. He also earned a master's degree in 2006 from Northcentral University, Prescott, Ariz.
