Bourgeois, Harold

He was 77 and passed away on Saturday, Sept.29, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native and resident of Gonzales, and a retired painter. Visitation was held at the The Church, 13423 Hwy 431, St. Amant, on Friday, Oct. 5, from 6 p.m. until 6:25 p.m. Memorial service for family and friends was held at 6:30 p.m.

Bostwick, Betty Joyce

A native of Mississippi and resident of Geismar, she passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, at the age of 74. There was be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Wednesday, Oct. 10. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 11, from 8:30 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Cornerview Cemetery in Gonzales.

Briley, Ethel Mae Parms

A native and resident of Prairieville, she died at 8:51 a.m. Oct. 1, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake. She was 68 and a homemaker. Interment at First Pilgrim Calvary M.B.C. Campus # 2, Geismar.

Cheveallier, Darrell Edward "Fatboy"

A resident of Prairieville, he died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Promise Hospital. He was 55 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting was at First Church of the Nazarene, 9955 Old Hammond Highway, on Saturday, Oct. 6. Ashes will be taken to Bayou Pigeon.

Crawford, Keith Michael 'Paw Paw'

"Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic." A resident of Gonzales and "Jack of All Trades," he passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012. He was 62. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a 1968 graduate of Baton Rouge High. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. A visitation memorial was held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, Oct. 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. He is survived by his daughter, Kori Danielle Crawford of Austin, TX; son, Justin Crawford of Austin, TX; two sisters, Clelie Welch of Casco, ME and Sondra White of Denham Springs; five brothers, Cecil Crawford of Ruston, Roland Crawford of Lincoln, NE, Glynn Crawford of Baton Rouge, Neal Crawford of Denham Springs, and Brian Crawford of Gonzales; two grandchildren, Lucas Crawford and Amara Johnson; and a companion, Rose Marie White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Clelie Nelson Crawford; sister, Beth Cottle; and a brother, Ronald Crawford. He loved the game of golf, LSU football and baseball, and cooking. Gray, Steven William

He passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at his residence in Prairieville. He was born on April 28,1987 in Minot, ND. He grew up in Bismarck, ND and attended St. Mary's Grade School, Wachter Junior High School and graduated from Bismarck High School in 2006. In April 2007 he moved to Louisiana. He worked for the Institute of Building Technology and Safety in Houma from 2008-09, and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness from 2009-10. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Lessard, Lucille Mary Loupe Savoy

A native of French Settlement, born Dec. 9, 1928, and resident of Gonzales, she passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the age of 83. She worked at the Gonzales Garment Factory, Blue Runner Canning Factory and retired from West Gibson Department Store and along with her husband Ivan, founded and ran Lessard Water Works. Interment will be in Lake Chapel Cemetery.

Lyons, Curney James

A resident of Dutchtown and a native of Mire, he died on Oct, 3, 2012 of complications from Alzheimer and Parkinson Diseases. He was 79. He was employed by the Texas Pipeline Company, Texaco, and retired from Star Enterprises as Manager of Accounting. He was a leader of Boy Scouts of America and an adviser for Junior Achievement. Burial in Oaklane Memorial Park Cemetery Prairieville.

Mathison, Deborah

A native of Lima, Ohio and a resident of Darrow. She died at her residence at 12:28 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012. She was 52. Religious services were Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at True Light Worship Center, 1012 W. Orice Roth Road, Gonzales Burial was private.

Riley, Brittany Antionette Huey

A homemaker and resident and native of Donaldsonville, she died on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. in Donaldsonville as the result of an automobile accident. She was 24. Interment in Mt. Triumph Baptist Church cemetery. She was a 2006 graduate of Donaldsonville High School and attended Ascension College.

Spell Sr. Richard Earl

He passed away Oct.3, 2012 at 2:50 a.m. after a 4 1/2 year battle with Carcinoid cancer, at his home. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He was born March 21, 1959 in Baton Rouge. He was a 1978 graduate from Istrouma High School, where he played football for the Istrouma Indians (#42). He was a truck driver for AAA Cooper Transportation for over 20 years before he retired with his illness.
