George Gele', a resident of Prairieville, retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, and amateur archeologist, was the guest speaker at the Gonzales Rotary's weekly meeting held on August 14, 2012.
Mr. Gele' discovered a man-made structure located under water near the Chandeleur Islands. The archeological site, which he has been studying for many years, covers an area as large as the Superdome. Pictured with Gele' (center) are: Gonzales Rotary President and State Representative, Johnny Berthelot (left), and Rotarian, Henry Schexnayder.
