St. Amant FFA Alumni awards scholarships

MANDY DELAUNE Special to The Citizen
Edmond Rachal, left, was named winner of the Brody Johns Memorial Scholarship, while Corey Alleman, right, was named winner of the Robbie Savoy, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

The St. Amant FFA Alumni proudly awarded four scholarships to seniors who plan to further their education after high school.

From the support of our community with our 30 Days of Holiday Cash Raffle, we were able to establish and award $2000 in scholarships. In an effort to raise scholarship numbers and amounts, St. Amant FFA Alumni will continue the raffle next year and we encourage you to help support the scholarships through raffle ticket purchases.

All Agriscience seniors are given the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. The newly established Alumni scholarships were dedicated in honor of former FFA members Brody Johns and Robbie Savoy, Jr. These senior scholarship winners were selected based on merit.

Edmond Rachal was named winner of the Brody Johns Memorial Scholarship, while Corey Alleman was named winner of the Robbie Savoy, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. Devin Giles and Bladimir Bladelamar were awarded the remaining two scholarships from the St. Amant FFA Alumni. In addition, Jonrell London was awarded the Braud Company Scholarship, and Courtland Delhommer was awarded the Associated Builders & Contractors Lifetime Scholarship.
