Public high school students and their parents are invited to the Ascension Parish Career Fair on Wed., Jan. 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the 4-H Building located at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales. This is the first time in several years that Donaldsonville High, Dutchtown High, East Ascension High and St. Amant High are joining forces with business and industry to hold one large event.

Over 100 professions will be represented covering areas such as architecture, the arts, business, construction, education, engineering, film, government, human services, mental and physical health, the military, industrial planning and production, law and technology.

"In the past our high schools organized career fair events on their respective campuses. By working collaboratively, there will be a wider range of professionals that will afford our students the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge about a variety of career and education training options they can pursue during high school and after graduation," said Ascension Public Schools Superintendent David Alexander.

Some of the confirmed participants include LSU Foundation Sales, L'Auberge Casino, Our Lady of the Lake, BASF, Motiva, Kiss N Makeup, EATEL, Baton Rouge Film Commission, the Federal Aviation Administration, Turner Law Firm and various military law enforcement, to name a few.
