PotashCorp donates $30,000 to G.W. Carver Primary

Representatives from PotashCorp - Geismar recently surprised the staff at G.W. Carver Primary School with a $30,000 check to purchase laptops for teachers to use in the classroom.

"We appreciate the ongoing commitment Potash has to our school community,” said G.W. Carver Primary Principal Latatia Johnson. “This donation is particularly exciting as it will allow us to purchase laptops for our Pre-K through second grade classrooms. The laptops will enhance our curriculum and expose our youngest students to skills necessary to be college and career ready."

Last year, PotashCorp donated around $550,000 to the local community in support its six areas of priority, which are food and security, education and training, community building, heath and wellness, environmental stewardship and arts and culture.

"It is a continuing goal of PotashCorp to be a responsible member of our communities,” said PotashCorp Human Resourced Manager Garry Hiebert. “By supporting projects and initiatives that reflect the goals and values of our company, we strive to improve the quality of life in the areas where we work and live.”
