The 66th annual Louisiana Senior Beta Convention was held in Lafayette this past week at the Cajundone from January 15 -16. Schools from around the state were led by State President Cole Holley, from East Ascension High School, in leadership training and contests ranging from academic tests to group talent. Coming out first place in the state for the second year in a row was the entry from East Ascension High. Their student-created entertainment act called "Into the Circus" wowed the crowd with singing, dancing, acrobatics, and acting. Cole Holley will now lead the Beta National Convention to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, as its presiding president - a role he was elected to last summer. The group talent crew will also compete for the National Championship at this convention representing Louisiana in this competition against schools from around the nation.
