Dutchtown High School bands perform in competitions

The Dutchtown High School bands performed at the Grand National Adjudicators Invitational on April 18. The Symphonic Band earned a rating of “Excellent,” and the Symphonic Winds earned a “Superior” rating. The band also visited the Tennessee Aquarium, and The World of Coca-Cola /Six Flags in Atlanta, Ga. Above, are members of the band April 17 at Lookout Mountain. In Chattanooga, Tenn. The DTHS bands traveled to Lake Charles Monday, April 27 for the LMEA State Music Festival. Both the Symphonic Band and the Symphonic Winds earned Superior ratings, and the Symphonic Band received the highly sought-after Sweepstakes Award by earning a “One” in all four judging categories. The DTHS Senior Band Concert and Awards Night will be held Friday, May 8. This year, the band will be graduating 34 seniors. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m., in the cafetorium.
