Donaldsonville High principal steps down

Gwen Boudreaux will step down from her position as principal at Donaldsonville High School effective at the end of the school year, according to Ascension Parish Schools spokesperson Johnnie Balfantz Jr.

Boudreaux, who became principal of the school in January 2007, will transfer to a classroom teaching position, Balfantz said.

“Ms. Boudreaux has been a committed and especially devoted educator within our school system for many years,” stated Superintendent Donald Songy. “While I respect her decision to step down as principal, I am grateful that she has chosen to remain in our school system as an educator in the classroom.”

The Ascension Parish School Board will immediately begin accepting applications for the principal position at the school.
