Gonzales Middle students learn about Zydeco

Learning the history and culture of Zydeco and how it came to be was the focus of the lesson taught by Carla Duplechin and Lynn August Jr. Feb. 27 at Gonzales Middle School.  Zydeco musician and recording artist, Lynn August Sr., of Lafayette, visited the students and brought along with him a morning of music and fun. Students Daisha Bouton and Christie Pono join in with August.

Students enjoyed playing the washboard as August entertained them with his accordian.
