Pecan Grove runs for reading

Employees of Pecan Grove Primary School in Gonzales participated in the LRCE (Louisiana Resource Center for Educators) 5K Run called the “Big Apple Run for Reading” Saturday, March 21.
The event started near the Old State Capitol and included the streets around the Governor’s Mansion.
The LRCE will use the collected donations to provide resources for students, teachers, administrators, and families in the greater Baton Rouge area.
After the run/walk was complete, the participants enjoyed dancing in the street near the Old State Capitol as the DJ played some favorite tunes from the 70’s and 80’s.
“While none of the Pecan Grove Pelicans won an award for being the fastest competitors, a great time was had by all who participated,”?said a Pecan Grove Primary spokesperson.
