Cox, GSA donate to River Parishes Community College

Cox Communication’s Sharon Kleinpeter, who is retiring as the company’s Greater Baton Rouge vice president of governmental and public affairs, presented a $10,000 check for student scholarships to the chair of the River Parishes Community College Board of Directors, Robert Burgess, second from left.

Since 1962 Cox has been a full-service provider of telecommunications products. The company also has supported RPCC since its inception. The check was presented by Kleinpeter on the day of her retirement from the RPCC board and Jones’ ascending to fill her seat.

Glenn and Glenda Shaheen of GSA Inc. donated $2,500 to River Parishes Community College Foundation Inc. for student scholarships.

Welch is shown accepting the check. GSA was founded by Glenn Shaheen in 1988 to provide professional engineering consultin services to federal, state and local governments as well as the private sector.

RPCC, located in Sorrento, is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary.
