Family bingo night held at Central

Stephanie Conerly/Central publicity chair

MPACT, Central’s PTO is aware that families stay busy. In most households, both parents work. Their evenings are preset with errands, commitments, and shuffling kids from point A to point B. Downtime, quality time as a family is scarce. This reason prompted MPACT to initiate Family Bingo Night.

The organization wanted to provide parents and students with a relaxing atmosphere filled with fun. MPACT held its first Bingo Night last year. Families seemed to enjoy themselves. The event was successful; therefore, the officers voted to make Bingo Night an annual event.

Family Bingo Night 2009 was held Friday, Feb. 20. Approximately 400 families participated.

Concessions were provided and door prizes awarded. MPACT would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous donations: Coca-Cola (Baton Rouge), Papa Johns (Gonzales), KC Hall (Irma Blvd.), Gulf Net Seafood, Cracker Barrel (Tanger Mall), Wal-Mart (Gonzales), Brian Hodges, McDonalds, Sicily’s Pizza (Siegen Lane), Ralph’s Supermarket, Circle Bowl, All Star Ford (Prairieville), Sam’s Club (Siegen Lane), Leo’s Skateland (Cortana), Academy Sports (Siegen Lane), Ashley Furniture (Gonzales), Raising Cane’s (Gonzales), Auto Zone (Gonzales), Hugs-N-Kisses (Prairieville), Jump-N-Jive (Prairieville), All American Sleep & Matress (Mike and Noelle Graham), Big Lots (Gonzales), Darry’s Photography, Gonzales Tire (Gonzales), Bounce n’ Around (Gonzales), Bridgett LeBlanc (paraprofessional), Vickie Lambert (paraprofessional), Donna Lambert (secretary eighth grade), Sharon Neal (special eudcation), Benny Johnson, Gonzales Auto Paint & Supply (Richard Morgan/Allison Blanchard third grade), Rea Lolley and family, Elizabeth Ourso, Rebecca Parks, Beverly Arant, Dean McNeal, and Wendy Kling for without their support, such events could not take place.

“My kids and I had an awesome time on Friday as did many other families.  Thanks for all your efforts in providing some fun family time for the families in our community.”  Encouraging words such as these by Rebecca Parks, mother of 5, make the time dedicated to organizing such an event worthwhile. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
