The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office received several vehicle burglary reports located in Cypress Ridge subdivision and other nearby neighborhoods, located in Geismar between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9.

During the course of the investigation, surveillance video revealed that a male suspect, armed with a weapon, which appears to be a shotgun, is seen pulling on vehicle door handles attempting to burglarize several vehicles.

In one of the vehicle burglaries, a Smith and Wesson M4 high power rifle was taken from the vehicle.

It was learned that the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office had similar burglaries in January 2016 with a similar suspect carrying a shotgun type weapon in a subdivision in East Baton Rouge that boarders Ascension Parish.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636 or by texting 847411 to the anonymous tip line from any cellular device, or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP. To be eligible for a cash reward, you must contact Crime Stoppers immediately.
