Crime Stoppers tip led to drug arrests

On Jan. 11, narcotics detectives received a crime stoppers tip relating to the whereabouts of JoMichael Taylor, who was wanted on felony drug charges. Detectives investigated the tip and as a result, located and arrested Taylor.

According to Major Kevin Hanna, detectives went to a residence on Oak Lane in St. Amant Monday afternoon where they located 24-year-old Taylor inside of the residence and placed him under arrest. Detectives then secured a search warrant for the residence where they located a quantity of marijuana, a shotgun, Promethazine, Xanax, and Naproxen. 

Detectives also arrested Jeremy Saltzman who was present when detectives executed the search warrant on the Oak Lane residence.

JoMichael Taylor, 24, of 18095 Little Prairie Road, Prairieville, was arrested and charged on Monday evening with distribution of a legend drug without a prescription, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute schedule IV CDS, two counts drug paraphernalia, two counts illegal carrying of weapons, resisting an officer, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of schedule IV CDS, and possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS. His bond was set at $175,000 and he is still incarcerated at this time.

Jeremy Saltzman, 20, OF 43479 Oak Lane, Gonzales, was also arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal carrying of weapons. He was released after posting a $30,000 bond set by Judge Verdigets.
