Gonzales Police asking for assistance in finding thief

Detective Sergeant Steven Nethken with the City of Gonzales Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with information leading to the apprehension of Alton L. Francewar Jr., 34, of last known address 48414 Whiskey Lane, Tickfaw, Louisiana.

Francewar is wanted on charges of bank fraud, forgery and theft stemming from the robbery of six company checks, all made payable to Francewar. One check was cashed in Gonzales ($980), three in Hammond ($6,315 total) and two in Mandeville ($1,965 total).

Francewar has been positively identified from surveillance footage.
