‘Operation No Show’ continues

eriff’s Office Major Kevin Hanna reports the Sheriff’s Office is continuing its efforts in the parish to arrest individuals that are failing to appear in court after being arrested on felony and misdemeanor criminal charges. The ongoing initiative is “OPERATION NO SHOW.”
Persons who are arrested on criminal charges are entitled to a bond. Upon bonding from jail the individual is given notice to be in court on a specific date. The following individuals ignored their court date which subsequently led to a bench warrant being issued by the court for failure to appear:
Gregory Collins, 42, of 402 W. Borderlon St., Gonzales is wanted on a felony bench warrant for possession of CDS I, and possession of CDS II.
Jeffery Johnson, 43, of 2142 Highway 30, Gonzales is wanted on a felony bench warrant three counts resisting an officer by force, obstruction of justice, disarming a peace officer, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Richard Johnson, 46, of 43580 Highway 931, Gonzales is wanted on a felony bench warrant for attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Daniel Coomer, 22, of 42385 Moody Dixon Road, Prairieville, is wanted on a felony bench warrant for possession of marijuana/synthetic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In an effort to reduce these felony bench warrant numbers, twice a month the Sheriff’s Office is airing a photograph and name of a person that has failed to appear in court, Major Hanna said.
