Gonzales Police Detective Sgt. Steven Nethken reported an 18-year-old Trenton Marshall Osburn from Baytown, Texas has been arrested by the Gonzales Police Detectives on one count of Terrorizing.

On May 22, a telephone call was received at the CB&I office in Gonzales. The caller stated that they had 30 minutes to evacuate the plant and hung up, according to Nethken. As a result of this call, the Williams Olefin’s Plant in Geismer was evacuated as a precaution at the direction of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, because of the plant location.  The call was received from a restricted number that was later traced back to cellular phone belonging to Osburn.  Gonzales Investigators learned that Osburn was a CB&I employee working at the Williams Olefin’s Plant on the day of the incident.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Osburn, whom was apprehended at the Williams Olefin’s plant on the morning of June 10 at 8 a.m. by Gonzales Investigators with the assistance of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

During questioning Osburn ultimately admitted to making the bomb threat call. Osburn told investigators his motive for making the call was that it was extremely hot and he needed a break.  Osburn is also wanted for an outstanding warrant from Kenefick, Texas for the charge of terroristic threat against a public servant.  Osburn has been booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and is awaiting Bond.
