Sheriff's Office seeking second suspect in shooting of eight-month pregnant Gonzales woman

On Wed., Aug. 14, Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported the shooting of an eight-month pregnant woman Kenyia Houston, 25.

As the investigation continues, detectives are now actively seeking 27-year-old Tiffany Victor, of 215 Medine Court, Laplace for accessory after the fact of attempted first-degree feticide and accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder, according to Major Kevin Hanna.

During the investigation, detectives booked 27-year-old Cowan Collins, Houston's ex-boyfriend, on charges of attempted second-degree murder, attempted first-degree feticide, and illegal use of weapons.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, Houston was leaving her residence when the alleged shooter, Cowan Collins, approached her vehicle firing several shots at her. She fled the scene in her vehicle in an attempt to save her and her unborn baby's life from the gunman that ended in her wrecking her car at the intersection of Highway 621 and Orleans Drive in Gonzales.

Houston was transported to an area hospital where she had an emergency delivery of the baby and underwent surgery for her wounds. Houston and her baby are in stable condition.
