Drug deal in parking lot leads to arrests

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Tony Bacala reported the arrests of two Ascension Parish men on drug charges.

On July 1, Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics detectives observed the occupants of two vehicles making what appeared to be a drug deal in the parking lot of a business in Dutchtown. Narcotics detectives made a traffic stop on one of the vehicles which was being driven by Logan Harris. A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of hydroponic marijuana and a marijuana pipe inside of the vehicle.

Logan Harris, 17, of 16500 New Horizon Road, Prairieville, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.

Austin Blades, 17, of 15120 Woodstone Road, Prairieville, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
