Two arrested on drug charges

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Major Kevin Hanna reported narcotics arrests following an investigation.

On May 13, 2013 the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Detectives began an investigation into complaints of drug activity at 12203 Bertrand Babin Road, Gonzales. During the investigation, narcotics detectives were able to search the residence and found Sherri Babin, 48, in possession of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives also found John Artigue, 52, in possession of Crack Cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Artigue also had an outstanding bench warrant for no proof of insurance and littering.

Sherri Babin, of 12203 Bertrand Babin Road, Gonzales, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and her bond was set at $21,085.

John Artique, of 40327 Highway 42, Prairieville, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear in court. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where his bond was set as $15,342.50.
