Man charged with possession of crack cocaine

On May 14, the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division began an investigation into illegal drug activity on Sammy St. in Gonzales, according to Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Major Kevin Hanna.

During the investigation, narcotics detectives stopped a vehicle in which Christopher Pointer was a passenger. During the investigation, narcotics detectives found Christopher Pointer in possession of crack cocaine.

Christopher Pointer, 34, of 38389 Hwy 929, lot 7, Prairieville, was charged with possession of schedule II CDS (crack cocaine), and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where he is currently incarcerated on a $25,342.50 set by Judge LeBlanc.
