Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre reported the arrest of a 28-year-old Donaldsonville man for a drive-by shooting that occurred in Donaldsonville early this afternoon, May 21.

Deputies responded to Memorial Drive in Donaldsonville where the shooting allegedly took place and learned that two men, who had previous altercations, started feuding again. After an investigation was launched, deputies learned that a male was walking on Memorial Drive when Toran Munson drove up, got out of his vehicle, and started a verbal argument with the other male. Two gunshots were fired, Munson got back in his vehicle and he drove away, tossing the gun out the window. Witnesses confirmed the same story, as well as, a passenger in the vehicle with Munson. Deputies located Munson and searched his vehicle and found a small pipe and a marijuana residue on the driver side of the vehicle.

Toran Munson, of 905 Pine Street, Donaldsonville, was charged with drug paraphernalia, attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated damage to property. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
