Ascension's CRT places third in state SWAT competition

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Crisis Response Team placed third overall in the Louisiana Tactical Police Officer's Association annual State SWAT Competition held May 14-15 in Alexandria.

The competition consisted of five events including an obstacle course, and shooting skills test using rifles, handguns, shotguns, and Sniper.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is the only agency in the state that had a team to finish in the top three in all six categories. The team was divided into two groups: Team BRAVO and Team ALPHA. The results were:

Overall Competition: Ascension BRAVO, Third Place

Shotgun: Ascension ALPHA, Third Place

Handgun: Ascension ALPHA, Third Place

Rifle: Ascension BRAVO, Second Place

Sniper: Ascension BRAVO, Second Place

Obstacle Course: Ascension BRAVO, Third Place
