Investigation on Sammy St. leads to drug arrests

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Major Kevin Hanna reported multiple drug arrests on S. Sammy Street following a two-week investigation into drugs being sold by Kenneth "Killer" Wagner.
On May 17, the Sheriff's Office Narcotics division executed a search/arrest warrant at 421 S. Sammy Street, Gonzales. Narcotics detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant on Kenneth Wagner for distribution of cocaine and a search warrant for his residence as a result of the two-week investigation. During the search, narcotics detectives seized crack cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, digital scales, and two firearms. One of the firearms was reported stolen.
Kenneth Wagner, 23, of 421 S. Sammy St., Gonzales was charged with distribution of schedule II CDS (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS, possession of schedule I CDS (marijuana), possession with intent to distribute a legend drug, possession of a stolen firearm, two counts illegal carrying of weapons, two counts of possession of CDS in presence under 17 years of age, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Povial Ward, 22, 421 S. Sammy St., Gonzales was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS (cocaine), possession schedule I CDS (marijuana), possession with intent to distribute legend drug, possession of stolen firearm, two counts illegal carrying of a weapon, and two counts possession of CDS in presence under 17 years of age. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Wagner and Ward's two small children were also present at the time of the search, but were released to proper authorities.
