Suspect sought in armed robbery

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is actively searching for a black male who robbed a man at gunpoint on S. Sammy Avenue Wednesday morning at his residence. Shots were fired and nearby neighbors called in to report the incident. No one was injured.

The black male was described as being thin build, approximately 130 pounds, between 5'8" and 5'9", dark skin, wearing a white t-shirt over his face and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is also searching in an unrelated case for two white males who allegedly robbed a 72-year-old Gonzales man at gunpoint at his residence on S. Sammy Avenue Wednesday night.

The Gonzales man was struck in the head with an object but suffered only minor injuries and was robbed of nine $100 bills.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to an arrest from this incident.
