Officers make multiple drug arrests in Gonzales apartment complex

Ascension Parish Chief Tony Bacala reported multiple drug arrests following an investigation into drugs being sold at an apartment complex in Gonzales.
On May 7, 2013 the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division began an investigation into drugs being distributed at 39366 Hwy 621 Apt. 1, Gonzales. During the investigation, narcotics detectives arrested Charles Hopp, 32 and Brittney Carlson, 23 for possessing drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation revealed that Hopp, Carlson, and Vanessa Via, 25 all reside at 39366 Hwy 621 Apt. 1, Gonzales. Narcotics detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the apartment and executed it a short time later. During the search, narcotics detectives seized a Methamphetamine Lab, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Hydrocodone pills, Xanax pills, Clonazepam pills, and Soma pills.
Charles Hopp, was charged with possession of Drug Paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, creation of a Clandestine Lab, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of Xanax, possession of Clonazepam, possession of Soma, failure to appear in court, and resisting an officer. His bond was set by Judge Holdridge at $75,635. He is currently still incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail.
Brittney Carlson, 23, was charged with possession of Drug Paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, creation of a Clandestine Lab, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of Xanax, possession of Clonazepam, and possession of Soma. She is currently still incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail where her bond was set by Judge Holdridge in the amount of $70,342.50.
Vanessa Via, 25, was charged with possession of Drug Paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, creation of a Clandestine Lab, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of Xanax, possession of Clonazepam, possession of Soma, and failure to appear in court. Judge Holdridge set her bond at $65,000 and she is currently still incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail.
