Sheriff's Office reports multiple narcotics arrests in the past 48 hours

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Major Kevin Hanna reported multiple narcotics arrests in the past 48 hours in Ascension Parish.
On April 30, detectives observed Kayley Hutchings, an employee of a local Prairieville business, and Tyler Matto and Jordan Collins sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot where Collins had a quantity of Heroin in his lap. After a thorough search of the vehicle, detectives located an additional quantity of Heroin, hypodermic needles, and an Oxycodone pill.
During the investigation, narcotics detectives learned Jordan Collins distributed Heroin to Tyler Matto and Kayley Hutchings. The three suspects all showed signs of injecting the drug into their arms and admitted to using the drug in the parking lot.
In addition to the drug charges, Kayley Hutchings and Jordan Collins had active bench warrants for their arrests.
Jordan Collins, 24, of 17637 Breman Drive, Baton Rouge, was charged with possession of schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, distribution of schedule I CDS (Heroin), and a bench warrant. He is incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Kayley Hutchings, 20, of 11079 Beco Road, St. Amant, was charged with possession of schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, and four counts bench warrants. She is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Tyler Anthony Matto, 21, of 18543 Lake Iris Ave., Baton Rouge, was charged with possession of schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule II CDS (oxycodone). He is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
During the course of the investigation detectives learned that a trio were interested in selling illegal narcotics to Collins, Hutchings, and Matto and were to meet in the same parking lot on April 30. Narcotics detectives learned John Kirk was headed to Ascension Parish to sell a quantity of Heroin. Narcotics detectives located John Kirk's vehicle in the parking lot of the local business in Prairieville and placed him under arrest. Narcotics detectives also arrested passengers Tara Johnson and Terry Brown.
Narcotics detectives located a quantity of heroin in Terry Brown's possession. John Kirk and Tara Johnson also brought their infant child to what they believed to be a drug deal.
John Kirk, 25, of 16022 Woodlawn Acres, Baton Rouge, was charged with attempt to distribute Schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in presence of a juvenile, cruelty to a juvenile, and possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (Heroin). He is currently incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Tara Johnson, 22, of 16022 Woodlawn Acres, Baton Rouge, was charged with principal to distribution of schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, principal to possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (Heroin), possession of CDS in presence of juvenile, and cruelty to juvenile. She is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
Terry Brown, 21, of 26427 Kendalwood Road, Baton Rouge, was charged with attempted distribution of Heroin, possession with intent to distribute Heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug, possession of CDS in presence of juvenile. He is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
