Ascension Parish Justice of the Peace and Constables attend annual training

The Ascension Parish Justice of the Peace and Constables completed their annual training from the Louisiana Attorney General's Office this past week in Marksville, Louisiana.

The annual training is mandated by law, and the four day training session is conducted by the staff of Attorney General Buddy Caldwell. This was the 43rd Annual Attorney General's Justice of the Peace and Constable's Training Conference.

During the four day training course, the local Justice of the Peace and Constables were instructed in Arrest Warrants, Human Trafficking, Professionalism in Law Enforcement, Proper Laws of the JP Court, Sexual Harassment, Livestock issues across the State, proper way to handle garnishments, Louisiana Ethics Training, Evictions, Civil Procedures, Seizures, Campaign Finance, and Laws on Abandoned boats and vehicles.

The training session also instructed the local Justice of the Peace and Constable's on the updated Louisiana Litter Laws.
