Sex offender arrested after failing to register
Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre reported the arrest of Charles Feduccia, 49, of 13502 US 61, lot 14, Gonzales for failing to register as a sex offender in Ascension Parish.
On Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, Charles Feduccia was located by Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office detectives, along with the U.S. Marshal's Sex Offender Locate and Arrest Team, after finding out that Feduccia moved from Georgia to Louisiana to find work, but failed to register as a sex offender.
He was located at his residence and taken into custody. Feduccia advised detectives that he knew he was going to be arrested for not registering in Louisiana and knew he was doing wrong. He advised his reason for being in Louisiana was to get enough money to buy a vehicle so he could get back and forth to work.
Feduccia also said he was in Louisiana illegally because he was advised by his Georgia Probation Officer that he would not be granted another travel permit because he had failed to register multiple times before.
Charles Feduccia was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender (felony), and fugitive warrant from another agency. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where his bond has been set at $10,000.
