Ascension authorities make arrest in Walgreens Pharmaceutical case
Ascension Parish Chief Criminal Deputy Tony Bacala announces three arrests have been made in stolen prescription medication from a pharmaceutical trailer at Walgreens Pharmacy in Geismar on Dec. 5.
Through several anonymous tips during the course of this investigation, investigators obtained arrests warrants on Charles "Dirty D" Savoy, Jonathon "Fatboy" Jouette, and Jody Ann Gautreau.
On Dec. 14, a search warrant was executed at the home of Charles "Dirty D" Savoy, 39, of 39185 Wesley Powers Road, Prairieville where over a 1,000 of the stolen pills were recovered. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of simple burglary of pharmacy, felony theft, simple criminal damage to property, and distribution or manufacture of schedule II CDS. He is currently incarcerated on an $80,292.50 bond that has been set by Judge Jessie LeBlanc.
On Dec. 15, Jonathon "Fatboy" Jouette, 26, of 42028 Bayou Narcisse Road, Gonzales was arrested in Alabama and is awaiting extradition to the Ascension Parish in connection with the pharmaceutical burglary.
On Dec. 20, Jody Ann Gautreau, 56, of 41312 Cannon Road, Gonzales surrendered to authorities and was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail for possession of marijuana, accessory after the fact to simply burglary of a pharmacy, and possession with intent to distribute schedule II CDS. She has been released on a $15,000 bond set by Judge Holdridge.
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be forthcoming.
