Robbery suspect arrested in Hwy. 44 gas station robbery

Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Tony Bacala reports one arrest following a robbery at a local gas station.

In the late evening hours of July 18, deputies responded to Rende's Gas Station located on Highway 44 and 621 in reference to a reported armed robbery. The investigation revealed that a gunman entered the store with a long gun and demanded the clerks give him the stores money.  The armed bandit fled the scene on foot with approximately $500 cash, Bacala said.

During the course of the investigation the suspect was quickly identified as Cole Rossi.  Investigators obtained arrest warrants on Cole Rossi, 21, of 44053 Dedon Road St. Amant, Louisiana Rende's robbery on charges of arm robbery and arm robbery with a firearm. During the night time hours of July 19 Rossi was taken into custody after turning himself in to the Ascension Parish jail. 

Rossi is currently incarcerated awaiting bond to be set.
