Assault rifle, drugs and pit bulls seized in Donaldsonville

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Captain Kevin Hanna reports five arrests in Donaldsonville following a report of an individual being threatened with an assault rifle.
On Saturday, November 19, 2011, deputies responded to the 1400 block of McKinley Street in Donaldsonville where the investigation led them to a home located at 1407 McKinley Street. At the home deputies discovered approximately 30 malnourished pit bulls that displayed injuries consistent with dog fighting.
Deputies conducted an extensive search of the McKinley Street home where they located and seized a quantity of marijuana, hydrocodone, drug paraphernalia, firearms, including a SKS assault rifle, and equipment that is used for dog fighting. The street value of drugs that were seized is estimated at over $2000, Hanna said.
As a result of the investigation the three occupants of the McKinley Street home were taken into custody. They are identified as Olivia and Jermaine Gibson, and Michael Williams. Two individuals, Kirk Gibson and Rega Davis that were visiting the home at the time of the investigation were also taken into custody on a variety of charges.
Jermaine Gibson,25, of 1407 McKinley Street Donaldsonville, Louisiana was arrested and charged with dog fighting, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I and II Controlled Dangerous Substance, illegal carrying of weapons and a city ordinance requiring inoculation tags for the pit bulls. He is currently incarcerated on a $410,207.50 bond set by Judge Ralph Tureau.
Michael Williams,22, of 1407 McKinley Street Donaldsonville, Louisiana was arrested and charged with dog fighting, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I and II Controlled Dangerous Substance, illegal carrying of weapons and a city ordinance requiring inoculation tags for the pit bulls. While being booked into the Ascension Parish jail he damaged a holding cell and was additionally charged with simple criminal damage to property. He is currently incarcerated on a $95,490 bond set by Judge Ralph Tureau.
Olivia Gibson, 41, of 1407 McKinley Street Donaldsonville, Louisiana was arrested and charged with dog fighting, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I and II Controlled Dangerous Substance, illegal carrying of weapons and a city ordinance requiring inoculation tags for the pit bulls. She is currently incarcerated on a $55,000 bond set by Judge Alvin Turner.
Kirk Gibson,19, of 1305 McKinley Street Donaldsonville, Louisiana was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule I and II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Additionally, Gibson was charged with introduction of contraband into a correctional facility after being found with a small amount of marijuana and cocaine concealed on his person as he was being booked into the jail. He is currently incarcerated on a $26,375.50 bond set by Judge Ralph Tureau.
Rega Davis, 20, of 1033 Nolan Street Donaldsonville, Louisiana was arrested and charged with domestic abuse battery and criminal damage to property which are unrelated to this investigation.He is currently incarcerated on a $5,619 bond set by Judge Ralph Tureau.
