Arrest made in Donaldsonville murder

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a Donaldsonville man late yesterday evening and charged him with the murder of Phillip Allen, according to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala.
On November 10, 2011 several shots were fired through a window of a home located at 305 West 4th Street in Donaldsonville. Phillip Allen, who lived at that location was sitting in front of the window and was killed by the gunfire.
During the course of the investigation into Allen's death, detectives received information that Winston Foster, age 17, 3098 Guedry Lane, Donaldsonville, was involved in the murder. The shooting is believed to be related to a dispute between Allen and another person who lived at 305 West 4th Street, but was not at the residence at the time.
An arrest warrant charging Foster with Second Degree Murder was obtained at 5:55 p.m. on November 15th and he was arrested at 6:52 p.m. on the same date. Foster is currently being held in the Ascension Parish Jail and his bond has been set at $1,000,000.
According to Bacala, the investigation into the murder is still ongoing.
