Gonzales Police searching for two known fugitives

Shawn Dean:

The Gonzales Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Shawn Dean, a black male, 21 years of age. 

Shawn Dean is wanted by the Gonzales Police Department in connection with a residential burglary that occurred On September 18, 2011. 

An Arrest warrant has been issued for Shawn Dean for the charge of Simple Burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

The Gonzales Police Dept is asking anyone with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Shawn Dean to please contact Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.

Robert Thobodeaux:

On 10/21/11 a Capital one MasterCard was reported stolen from the WalGreens located at Hwy. 30 and Burnside Ave. It was later discovered that on the same day of this report, approx. 25 minutes after the theft, three charges were made to the card at the following locations; Murphy’s Express for $31.16 to obtain gas, AT&T store for $683.54 for an IPad and Moe’s Discount for $51.41 for a total of $766. 11 in total charges.

A license plate number was obtained from the video at Murphy’s Express along with video from the AT&T store depicting a w/m and w/f together at the time the IPad was purchased. Through investigation it was found that the w/m, later identified as Robert Thibodeaux, was a relative of the person owning the vehicle observed at Murphy’s Express. Thibodeaux used the card to put gas in the vehicle. Thibodeaux then went to AT&T and used the card to purchase the IPad. Thibodeaux is wanted on the charges of Forgery, Felony theft in excess of $500.00, and Identity theft.
